Inform All Blacks’ Forwards Ahead of Lions Tour

Aright you’ve read my inform backs list, now time for the forwards. This is certainly not my area of expertise, but ill crack on, here we go!

  1. Aki Seiuli (Highlanders)
The Highlanders competition leading 98% scrum success rate is a testament to how hard Seiuli has worked this season. On top of that hes racked up an impressive 143 run metres on 26 carries.

  2. Hikawera Elliot (Chiefs)
Ten games in and Elliot already has 4 tries and a try assist to boot, what a try scoring machine! The chiefs Line out has had its moments throughout the year, it becomes much more formidable when the ball is in this mans hands.
  3. Owen Franks (Crusaders)
There so much to love about this Crusaders side at the moment. And Owen Franks is certainly no exception. Hes worked tirelessly all season, putting in solid shift after shift game after game, ensuring tight scrums, and safe ball retention at ruck time.
  4. Brodie Retallick (Chiefs)
27 Lineout catches, 2 Lineout steals, 123 metres and 78 tackles at a 91.8% success rate is about all you need to know about Brodie Retallick this year. This man will undoubtedly be in the All Blacks starting lineup up come June.
  5. Sam Whitelock (Crusaders)
Another member of the terrific Crusaders lineup to make this list. Sam Whitelocks’ 27 lineout catches has helped his team to the second best Lineout success record in the competition so far. Adding to that hes added 110 run meters on 62 runs along with 66 tackles.
  6.  Brad Shields (Hurricanes)
The Hurricanes may not be sitting atop the super ruby competition, but they’re not far off. Brad Shields has quietly gone about his business this season whilst being somewhat overshadowed by the star power of the Barrett and Savea brothers. However that hasn’t stopped him from having a stellar season. Stacking up 327 run Meters as well as 30 lineout catches.
  7. Ardie Savea (Hurricanes)
This man is a machine, 4 tries and 379 metres. Enough said. Will be interesting to see if his form will land him the starting #7 jersey.
  8. Akira Ioane (Blues)
This man has been Impressive both with ball in hand and on defence. 346 run metres on 69 carries to partner his 4 tries and 25 defenders beaten, and on the other side of the ball, 54 tackles at 91.5% success rate is nothing to sneeze at.
